Walk Along the Beach Summer Challenge
June Meet-ups
Join Walk ND for group walks during the month of June. Bring a friend and meet other members in our growing club. To participate, register via RecRegister five days prior to the meet-up date. Walks will take place weather permitting. If weather is questionable, an email will be sent to confirm/cancel an hour before the scheduled starting time.
- Tuesday, June 4 – 6:15 am – Good Morning Walk. Meet outside the RSRC for a pre-work walk. Coffee & fruit will be provided by ND Food Services
- Wednesday, June 12 – 12:15 pm – Lunchtime Walk. Meet in front of the Main Building for a lunch time walk. Water & frozen juice bars will be provided by ND Food Services.
- Saturday, June 22 – 8:00 am – Saturday Dog Walk. Meet in front of the Compton Family Ice Arena for a morning dog walk through campus. Dogs must be leashed and owners will be responsible for picking up after their pets. Water will be provided for you and your pup.
- Thursday, June 27 – 5:15 pm – Happy Active Hour. Meet in front of Rockne Memorial for a Happy Active Hour of walking before starting your weekend.

Congratulations to The Walk Abouts, who are the first to finish the Route 66 Team Challenge! They have walked the entire distance of the famous highway with a total of 2,536 miles.

Walk ND Feature Story – Mary Anne Pryde
This week I sat down with Mary Anne Pryde from the Morris Inn to talk about her team’s involvement in the Walk ND Route 66 Challenge. This is her first time doing one of the Walk ND activities. She said she joined because it would be a great way to get ready for all the moving around that she and her teammates are going to have to do when the Morris Inn reopens. Their team, The Morris Inn Movers, is aptly named because not only are they moving for their Walk ND Challenge, but they will be moving back into the Morris Inn sometime in the near future.
Mary Anne works as Banquet Manager, and right now she is trying hard to get things set up for the renovated Morris Inn. She has been busy booking events, shopping for uniforms and equipment, as well as hiring and training and just making sure everything is in order for the reopening. Some of her teammates on The Morris Inn Movers have been redeployed to other departments as part of the renovation process: “We have people from all different departments and we’re all walking to California together!”
