A New Dialogue

On Dec. 5-6, Notre Dame, in partnership with Brigham Young University, hosted a conference to encourage interreligious dialogue between members of the Catholic Church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, whose members are commonly referred to as Mormons.

Faced with budget cuts, grade schools often choose the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) over fine arts. Jay Brockman, associate dean of engineering and professor in the College of Engineering, says that STEM and the fine arts are a lot more integrated than some people may think. Currently, he is leading a project that incorporates the two disciplines.
