Exploring the Intimacies of a Unique Relationship in College Athletics

“… Football players must report to the Guglielmino Athletic Complex at 8 a.m. on their lifting days. Classes begin later in the morning and continue in the early afternoon until players return to the complex for team meetings later in the afternoon. Following meetings, players must report on the field to full-fledged practice for two hours and then watch film. For most, training table meals, tutoring sessions and study time fill the evening hours. There are mandatory study halls in a monitored space such as DeBartolo Hall or in a self-regulated setting such as in Coleman┬áMorse. Student-athletes must log their study hours during these work sessions. …”
