Stephen Lancaster Wins Nico Castel Competition at Carnegie Hall

Notre Dame Asst. Prof. Specialist of Voice Stephen Lancaster performed at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall on April 1st, as a finalist in the Nico Castel International Mastersinger Competition. He emerged as both the male winner and the audience award winner after performing “Estuans Interius” from Orff’s “Carmina Burana” and “L’orage s’est calmé…O Nadir” from Bizet’s “Les Pêcheurs des Perles.” As part of his prize, he will perform as a soloist in a major choral work presented by Distinguished Concerts International – New York in a prestigious venue (Carnegie Hall or Lincoln Center) next season. This win is a wonderful affirmation of Dr. Lancaster’s commitment to the highest level of artistry in concert and oratorio repertoire.
