David Jansen

David Jansen in the Kalahari

I am the lab manger of the Archie lab. I am interested in animal behaviour and conservation. During my BSc and MSc in Forest and Nature conservation I specialised on Ecology and Conservation. I gained lot of skills and experience in animal behaviour by working as a volunteer research assistant at several projects related to animal behaviour. including the Kalahari Meerkat Project. In the Kalahari I worked at projects with 3 different mongoose species, before I started my PhD.

I finished my PhD in 2013 at the University of Zurich. I studies the vocal behaviour of banded mongooses (Mungo Mungos) in Queen Elisabeth National Park in Uganda at the Banded Mongoose Research Project. I worked with Prof. Marta Manser (Zurich University) in collaboration with Prof. Michael Cant (Exeter University)
